RTD-Rover

RTD-Rover: Rover-Based Network RTK

RTD Rover is a PDA-based, real-time, high-accuracy GPS network positioning application for stationary and moving platforms. RTD Rover is powered by Precise Instantaneous Network (PIN) positioning, based on Geodetics' Epoch-by-Epoch® technology.

Geodetics' PIN-positioning creates a network of up to 3 GPS receivers (2 reference and 1 rover) on the rover based PDA or data logger and provides an independent multiply-determined estimate of rover position for each epoch of dual-frequency (L1 and L2) observations.

RTD Rover Features

  • Network processing performed at the rover
  • Epoch-by-Epoch® network adjustments computed without initialization or re-initialization delays inherent in RTK (single-base or network) methods
  • Extends effective range significantly compared to RTK methods
  • Compatible with equipment from all major GPS hardware manufacturers - no need for in-receiver RTK and extends lifetime of legacy equipment
  • Works with existing base stations, with or without reference network software
  • Smart client mode for interactions with Geodetics RTD Pro server software
  • Makes use of TCP/IP or RS-232/Bluetooth communications to field receiver, base stations and data loggers
  • Compatible with PDA mobile phones from Verizon, Cingular and Sprint

Rover-Based Network Positioning System for Land Survey

Geodetics, Inc. has teamed with Carlson Software to integrate RTD Rover with Carlson's battle-tested land surveying solution SurvCE. The combined solution turns your land surveying data logger into a powerful real-time network-positioning engine.

The solution offers all of the surveying functionality of SurvCE, combined with Geodetics' Precise Instantaneous Network (PIN) positioning technology. PIN positioning creates a reference network of up to 3 GPS receiver/antenna pairs (2 reference and 1 rover) on the data loggger and provides a network-adjusted estimate of rover position for each epoch of dual-frequency (L1 and L2) observations.

RTD Rover provides instantaneous position fixes with zero initialization and re-initialization times over longer baselin distances than are possible with RTK systems. The package is suitable for use with most dual-frequency geodetic receivers with or without built-in RTK capability.

The new package runs on platforms supported by SurvCE.

See SurvCE for more information on the SurvCE package.
